Fallon

Apprentice Aquamancer

Name: Fallon. If she has a last name, she doesn't know it.
Age: Appears 17
Race: Human, born Aquamancer
Occupation: Apprentice to Master Dryden
Lineage: Unknown
Weapon: Mostly magic, sword or bow when necessary

Appearance:
Hair: Slightly above shoulder-length, tawny blonde with two streaks of blue in the front.
Eyes: Clear dark blue
Skin: Fair but tanned lightly
Height: 5' 6"
Build: Although she's rather skinny for her age, she's wiry and is a lot stronger than she looks. She doesn't have a large bust, but that doesn't seem to bother her.

Personality:
Fallon presents a wry, cynical face to the world, but she has a warm heart and hasn't let her experiences of rejection and pains completely sour her outlook on life. She has experienced a great deal of rejection and pain, considering that throughout the Realms, a cry of "mancer!" will empty a crowded square faster than a fire. She tries not to be bitter, but it is hard when gate after gate is slammed in her face. Even in Coranth, the land of mages and sorcerers, she is barely tolerated, and only then because she is the apprentice of one of the most respected Masters in the Realms. Her cynicism and calculating façade is a defense mechanism against a world that irrationally fears her kind. Consequently, she has trouble showing any emotions since she's kept everything bottled up for as long as she can remember. She does have one quirky sense of humor (think Monty Python weird), and isn't at all shy about showing it, usually at the expense of her companions. She can come across at first as being cranky or abrupt, but she's really a kind person. Those who know her (and can look beyond the Mark) enjoy her friendly company and wry sense of humor.

In most of this bio, Fallon seems rather serious, but she has her cheerful moments too. She isn't all gloom-and-doom, but rather she has emotional ups and downs like all people do.

Fallon's primary love is adventure, and she jumps at the chance to traverse the Realms and live life to the fullest, even if she's really only being a glorified courier for Master Dryden. Her usual traveling companions on these excursions are Noah or Calais, or sometimes both. Apparently Master Dryden doesn't have any qualms about sending his teenage apprentice into situations that could easily turn deadly. Maybe she's really more competent than she thinks. ^_~

History:
Fallon is an Aquamancer, an "elemental sorcerer" who has the potential to control the gates to the Elemental Plane of Water.

In Fallon's case, nobody knows how she has managed to survive this far in a hostile world. She knows nothing of her past. She doesn't remember anything of where she came from or if Fallon is even her real name. She has a few scattered memories; images and sensations really, but nothing concrete. For some reason, though, the sound of a wind flute always sounds disturbingly familiar...and there is a half-forgotten tune that rises out of the mists of her memory when she is alone and lost in her musings. She does not like to dwell on the past and considers these experiences to be "a lifetime ago." She stubbornly refuses to speak to anybody about it, and nobody really knows where she came from, least of all herself. As far as she's concerned, her life began seven years ago when she first came under the wing of Master Dryden.

Fallon lives in the capital city-castle of Coranth and studies under a master Aeromancer (element of Air) by the name of Dryden. She has been Master Dryden's apprentice for 7 years now, and is rapidly approaching Journeyman rank. Her life in Coranth is mainly the study of the arcane arts and how to control and utilize her potential, but as she approaches Journeyman rank, she has been adventuring more and more frequently. She spends her leisure time (when she has any) with Calais and Noah. The three of them manage to get into all sorts of trouble (especially Fallon and Noah), but they are generally known to be dependable in a crisis.
Master Dryden often sends Fallon and a companion to run "errands" that wind up sending her halfway across the realms, but it's all in a day's work. Besides, she loves adventure.

Information:
As can be expected, Fallon loves anything to do with water, the ocean, or the beach. She's a water baby -literally- and is an excellent swimmer and free-diver. She can breathe water (an ability that has come in handy many times) and feels an innate kinship with the ocean, water, and all of the creatures of the sea. She can converse telepathically with most of the more intelligent water creatures, and epecially loves the gregarious, nonjudgemental dolphins. Water faeries and other magical creatures seem to gravitate to her, since she is inherently magical just as they are. At times, this is wonderful, since water pixies and naiads can be excellent company, but there are other times...Oh, yeah, and she hates to eat fish. It's kinda hard to eat someone whom you were talking to just the other day :P
Fallon can't stand people who judge on first appearances, since she is so often judged by her Mark rather than her deeds.
When she fights, Fallon mostly relies on magic. She uses ordinary mage spells at first, and only uses her elemental talent when she has to, since elemental magic is made up mostly of raw power and can cause more harm than good when used improperly. Thanks to Noah's informal training, she can use a sword or other weapon well enough to hold her own, but she is far from a swordswoman and would probably only use a sword long enough to run away. ^^; She is most at home when she is on the road, traveling the Realms alone or with one of her trusted companions.

Family:
None known.

Notes on design:
Clothing: Fallon tends to dress for comfort and adventure, usually in a practical tunic and boots. Her outfit isn't set, and you can dress her in anything you like. However, she is a huge tomboy, and probably would get really pissed if you tried to put her in a frilly pink dress. ^^;;;
Also, in order to escape notice in a crowd or to hide the fact that she is a mancer, Fallon must wear a head covering of some sort to hide her Mark. She usually wears a blue kerchief when she must cover her head, even though she hates it with a passion.
